Painting a miniature isn't as tough as you might imagine. Once you break everything down into small, digestible steps, you'll see just how simple it really is. Shown below is a basic step-by-step example of how to paint a miniature. Follow the directions, take your time, and with a bit of practice, you'll soon have a collection of miniatures to be proud of!

Dark Skin. Paint the majority of the Troll's skin using Catachan Green. Leave the deepest crevices of the Troll skin Chaos Black by carefully applying the paint. This method creates depth.

Belly Skin. Complete the Troll's skin by painting Kommando Khaki over the belly and face. Again, leave deep cracks of Chaos Black by carefully applying the paint.

Eyes, Teeth, and Scales . Paint the Troll's eyes with two pinpoints of Blood Red. Pick out the teeth using Bleached Bone. Then, paint the scales scattered over the body skin Scab Red.

Stone. Carefully drybrush the rock held over the Troll's head using Codex Grey. Paint the stone earring with Shadow Grey.

Bone, Claws, and Cloth. Paint the various skull and bone charms, along with the Troll's claws, using Bleached Bone. Paint the loincloth Dark Flesh and the ropes Graveyard Earth.

Metals. Drybrush the Dwarf Helmet held over the Troll's head Brazen Brass and the chain Boltgun Metal. Finally, paint the dwarf medallion around the Troll's neck Shining Gold.
