ainting
a miniature isn't as tough as you might imagine. Once
you break everything down into small, digestible steps,
you'll see just how simple it really is. Shown below
is a basic step-by-step example of how to paint a
miniature. Follow the directions, take your time, and
with a bit of practice, you'll soon have a collection
of miniatures to be proud of! |

| Dark Skin.
Paint the majority of the Troll's
skin using Catachan Green. Leave the
deepest crevices of the Troll skin
Chaos Black by carefully applying
the paint. This method creates depth. |
|
|
|
| Belly Skin.
Complete the Troll's skin
by painting Kommando Khaki over the
belly and face. Again, leave deep
cracks of Chaos Black by carefully
applying the paint. |
|
|
|
| Eyes, Teeth,
and Scales . Paint the
Troll's eyes with two pinpoints of
Blood Red. Pick out the teeth using
Bleached Bone. Then, paint the scales
scattered over the body skin Scab
Red. |

|
|
|
|
|
| Stone.
Carefully drybrush the
rock held over the Troll's head using
Codex Grey. Paint the stone earring
with Shadow Grey. |
|
|
|
| Bone, Claws,
and Cloth. Paint the various
skull and bone charms, along with
the Troll's claws, using Bleached
Bone. Paint the loincloth Dark Flesh
and the ropes Graveyard Earth. |
|
|
|
| Metals.
Drybrush the Dwarf Helmet
held over the Troll's head Brazen
Brass and the chain Boltgun Metal.
Finally, paint the dwarf medallion
around the Troll's neck Shining Gold. |
